What to do in Fredericksburg, Texas?
Q. My husband and I visited Fredericksburg recently for a wedding, but only briefly and didn't do anything there. We saw plenty of shops and a war museum, and of course there are the wineries, so we're going there for our vacation. We'd like to stay at a B&B, but because of cost may do a regular hotel instead. Probably about 3 to 4 days total. So which winery tours are the best? What else can we do there? Any suggestions on where we stay? Thanks.

What happened to horse jockey Akili Gray after he had a spill on July 2005? Anyone have any info?
Q. He was in a TB race and his horse fell. this happened in Gillespie County Fair Grounds in Fredericksburg, Texas. I know he was in a coma for like 2 or 3 months after the spill but i have no more info after that.

A. 08/29/2005 : 11:18:43 Well guys we have some good news on Akili. The rehab center where he is at in Austin is continuously looking after him and making sure they do everything they can to help him recover. He is now coughing on his own and starting to hold his head up. The latest tests run on him have showed that both sides of his brain are showing brain waves compared to the hospital saying that half of his brain was gone. This is a huge plus for Akili. This is the latest on Mr.Gray and I will continue to keep you updated on his condition.

A. I think Fredricksburg is the best. Messina Hoff has a great tour-so does Llano (wines, not the town.) Next I want to go to the winery near Del Rio but I can't remember what it's called.

Q. i have a family of five, my boyfriend and i, my two daughters ages 7 and 8 and our son age 2. we just moved back from texas and we are staying with friends but unfortunatly we are kinda out in the country and are having trouble finding work. we would like to move to the virginia beach to fredericksburg areas, and inbetween up the coast. but we obviously dont have jobs yet, cant find houseing and need somehelp. any suggestions? we would really like to be in newport news but cant drive from spotsylvania to n.n for work everyday. seems we are in a bind, any advice is much appriciated!!! thanks for looking. A. with no jobs and apparently bad credit you are limited to hotels. The little places downtown will have weekly rentals, but you will need 2, you have too many people to legally live in a 1 room place. There are also homeless shelters, you and the kids in one, your BF would have to live in a mens one. The Salvation Army can direct you to those shelters.
