People who travel and stay away from home for more than a day need lodging for sleep, rest, safety, shelter from cold temperatures or rain, storage of luggage and access to common household functions. Lodgings may be self catering in which case no food is laid on but cooking facilities are available. Lodging is done in a hotel, hostel or hostal, a private home (commercial, i.e. a bed and breakfast, a guest house, a vacation rental, or non-commercially, with members of hospitality services or in the home of friends), in a tent, caravan/camper (often on a campsite). In addition there are make-shift solutions. Sleeping is typically done lying in a bed, or more generally on a soft surface, such as an air mattress, a couch, etc. Some trains have sleeping cars. Sometimes people sleep sitting, because lying is not possible, such as in a train (if not in a sleeping car), a bus, a seat in a waiting room or a bench on the street or in a park. Inclinable seats allow something between sitting and lying. Whether lying on a row of seats is possible and comfortable depends on the presence of arm rests, and whether they can be moved up. In some public places, lying would be possible, but is not permitted. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License Is the Army National Guard required to provide lodging to those soldiers that live far away from their unit? Q. I live in a complete different state then my unit at which i am a SMP cadet. i will be attending my first summer training but the unit is over a 5 hour drive from my residence is the national guard required to provide lodging for me locally when i attend AT? is there any documentation that explains this? also how dose pay work for AT is it one payment for the whole summer session or is it broken down into several MUTAs like general weekend drill is? The Reserves have a Lodging in Kind program which can provide lodging (2 to a room) under certain conditions. For AT, you will get quarters. It will USUALLY not be at your home station, but a base somewhere. For AT, it is 2 weeks and there is 1 payment that you will receive at the end. AT is paid as 15 days (or whatever the specific duty time) of active duty military pay. That means base pay plus BAS and BAH where applicable. Your normal weekends are base pay only, but you get 2 days pay for every 1 day of duty. You should check if you can drill with a different unit (RST) or if you can go in during the week and make up drills all at once. I agree with the first person who answered. When our son was ten, he swallowed a screw and a bolt. We joked about "what a screwy thing to do" until the x-rays came back. It *was* in his right lung. The doctor told us that it is most common to go down the right one. Results: General surgery, a bronchoscopy and three attempts to get the darn thing out. "How did you manage to swallow a screw and a bolt?" "Oh, we were just taking apart the printer last night!" Q. >??? I am going to visit a friend, and want to stay somewhere that is not very ritzy but is in a decent area. I would like something with a kitchen, bathroom, a place where my luggage would be safe, and also near by public transportation. I plan on visiting Little Tokyo amongst other places. Figure about $100 a day, give or take, to meet your needs.
